Tumultuous Action: The Advent of Jurassic Park

Long before the Ages of CGI and Animatronics

We had only dreamed of a world of Jurassic Discovery, until 1993 when Steven Spielberg gave us Jurassic Park – the iconic film adaptation of Michael Crichton’s novel. As the film opened in theaters, audiences were stunned by one of the greatest spectacles of the early 90’s.

The story starts off by introducing us to the characters, namely paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant and paleobotanist Ellie Sattler. The film begins their journey taking our beloved characters to the new amusement park Isla Nublar, where, upon arrival, they discover that the park is soon to open and features real, live dinosaurs.

A Tumultuous Action Adventure Awaits

The film is full of thrills and suspense as we follow on the journey of these two characters and witness the chaos that ensues as they fight for their lives, all while trying to maintain the management of the park. From the constant threats of predators, to the tumultuous actions of John Hammond, the owner of the park, the audience get sucked into a thrilling journey of dinosaur entertainment.

The effects used to bring the dinosaurs alive, some of them now considered commonplace, were groundbreaking at that time. From the Velociraptors’ horror movie moment that happens in one of the film’s best scenes, to the awe-inspiring T-Rex chase of the iconic film’s climax, Jurassic Park took the world by storm and made an indelible impression that remains strong even today.

The Final Verdict

Jurassic Park was revolutionary for its time. It set the tone for other films by introducing computer-generated technology and animatronics, which gave us a better understanding of the world of dinosaurs. The hard work and dedication of those involved gave us a truly epic movie that stands as a testament of the power of cinema.

Jurassic Park continues to be one of the most popular movies in the world, and now, with the recent release of the 4th installment of the franchise, it has come to be seen as the standard to which all other dinosaur adventure films must measure up to.
