The 'Tyrannosaurus Rex': A Giant of the Dinosaur Age
Size Matters
The Tyrannosaurus Rex will always be remembered as one of the most recognizable creatures of the dinosaur age, and since its original discovery in 1905 the world has taken notice. This immense reptile measured between 40-50 feet long and stood over 13 feet tall - and that was just the adults! As with most other predatory dinosaurs, the T-Rex was equipped with a sharp set of teeth that comprehensively backed it's size and strength to become one of the biggest, most powerful predators of all time.
The Hunter & The Hunted
The life of a T-rex revolved mostly around hunting and scavenging for food, often chasing down and devouring its prey with the help of its extremely powerful jaws that could exert an enormous bite force. It also had a superior vision, able to detect movement from around 130 feet away - making it a preeminent advantage in the hunt.
Meanwhile, the T-rex had plenty of adversaries which it was competing with for food. Other large predators such as Raptor, Deinonychus, and even the massive Triceratops, dotted the area and would have been of concern for the T-Rex.
The Legacy of the King
Over 65 million years have passed since its rule over the land, but the T-Rex will forever remain an iconic figure among the world’s pre-historic creatures.
