From College to the Pros
Before Michael Jordan had everyone seeing “#23” on the court, he was just another basketball hopeful in college. In 1982, he had just left UNC's 'Tar Heels' and was drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the 3rd overall pick.
Little did everyone know at the time, this would be the start of something special.
Setbacks Make Comebacks
In his first season with the Bulls, Michael was named “Rookie of the Year”. It wasn’t all smooth sailing, though. Later that season, he broke his foot. This was a major setback for the rookie. He was forced to miss the rest of the season.
But the Bowmanville native proved once again that adversity was no match for his ambition. After months of rehab, and a strict training regimen that would be become part of the MJ myth, he was back on the court and ready to show his true strength.
The Jordan Era
Throughout the rest of Michael's career, he would go on to make basketball history. He was voted an NBA All-Star 13 times and was named “Most Valuable Player" of the regular season 5 times. As if that wasn’t enough, he won 6 titles as the also won 3 MVP titles for his outstanding performance in those NBA finals.
His legacy was cemented when he was inducted into the “Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame” in 2009. The whole basketball world was united in acclaiming the sheer scale of his achievements.
The Retirement Years
Now even though he left the game, Michael continued to shine in the legend of excellence he inspired. After he hung up his basketball shoes, he pursued multiple business and professional opportunities, including some of the biggest brands in the world like Nike, Gatorade, and Hanes.
A Legend Never Dies
It is clear that Michael’s legend will live on for many years to come. His timeless accomplishments as one of the greatest players of all time will forever remain a model of pure excellence.
