The Growth of Vegeta's Arc in Dragon Ball Super

Vegeta was once the arrogant Prince of all Saiyans, prioritizing his own increase in power above everything else - even the safety of his allies. However, over the years, in both Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta has undergone a huge growth arc and developed into a powerful and loyal ally, mentor, and even family man! Let's take a look at the journey he's been on.

At the start of his journey, Vegeta was a cold and calculating warrior, putting himself above anything or anyone else. He was filled with pride and a desire for power, even working against his own allies for his own gain. He was willing to do anything for his own strength, even if it meant using unethical and dodgy tactics. He was also incredibly hard on his son, Trunks, often speaking to him harshly and not being very supportive.

As time went on, however, Vegeta gradually started to change. Through his relationship with Bulma and his son Trunks, Vegeta began to open himself up to a more caring and compassionate side of himself. This led to him becoming more understanding and supportive of Trunks, as well as making friends with his allies and showing them a calmer, more protective side.

Vegeta's Biggest Growth Moment

Vegeta's biggest growth moment probably came in the Tournament of Power arc in Dragon Ball Super. In this arc, he shows restraint against Jiren, the strongest enemy they faced in the tournament, even after Jiren injures and defeats Trunks. Jiren accuses Vegeta of using his son as a pawn, which normally Vegeta wouldn’t tolerate. His response to this accusation is surprisingly gentle. His transition here really highlights the growth he’s done since Dragon Ball Z.

Vegeta After Dragon Ball Super

Since Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta continues to maintain his level of growth. He's a more protective and supportive father, more understanding and cooperative with his team, and even willing to take on more responsibility for his mistakes, such as when he apologizes for not stopping Goku from challenging Beerus in the God of Destruction arc. Overall, Vegeta's come a long way since the Prince of all Saiyans and it's been an absolute joy to see him grow.
