During this time, he discovered the true power that lay in him known as the Hogyoku, and with it, he was able to realize his true ambitions. In the process, he nearly succeeded in destroying the Soul Society.
However, this time Aizen's plans were foiled and he was finally defeated by Ichigo Kurosaki, a powerful soul reaper. He was then sentenced to life in prison in the Maggot's Nest, where he remains to this day.
Aizen's story in the Bleach anime is one of great tragedy and drama. His ambition and cunning made him one of the most notorious villains in the Soul Society, and his eventual downfall was a testament to his enemies' strength and determination.
