Widely acclaimed as the greatest basketball player of all time, Jordan dominated the game of basketball. Throughout his career, he secured numerous individual and team honors which highlighted his excellence on the court.
The Beginnings of Achieved Greatness
At the tender age of 17, Jordan joined the Emsley A. Laney High School varsity basketball team and instantly made an impact. He scored a whopping 22 points per game during his senior year in high school. Later, Jordan joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and made numerous strides in his career. He was a part of the successful NCAA Division I championship team and won College Player of the Year Award. It was at the University that scouts and coaches took notice of Jordan’s potential to dominate the game in the future.
A Decade of Basketball Greatness
As a part of the 1984 NBA draft, Jordan was selected by the Chicago Bulls. Immediately he made a mark and demonstrated his ability as a scorer. During his rookie season, Jordan led the Bulls into the playoffs and also won the Rookie of the Year Award. His fame increased as the unstoppable 'MJ’ led Chicago Bulls to three consecutive championships between 1991 and 1993.

Jordan was selected as the NBA’s MVP on five different occasions.
He bagged two Olympic gold medals and 10 All-NBA First team selections.
In total, he won 14 NBA All-Star and six NBA Finals MVP awards.
He was the first guard to establish a triple-double season.

His popular ‘Air Jordan’ brand of shoes was one of the key reasons for Nike’s remarkable success in the early ‘90s. He also owns the Charlotte Hornets franchise in the NBA.
