Gandolfini parlayed his success on The Sopranos to a myriad of other roles. He brought his signature brand of gruffness to movies such as Where The Wild Things Are and Zero Dark Thirty, establishing himself as one of the most well-liked actors of his era.

Where Gandolfini's career truly thrived was through theater. Some of his most acclaimed roles came in Off-Broadway productions, such as God Of Carnage, where he earned a 2009 Tony nomination. His ability to immerse himself in a character and bring it to life was unrivaled.
