Exploring Sauron: Anger, Bloodshed, and the Dark Lord

The Early Days of SauronSauron was originally a Maia, an angelic being from the Maiar, created by the Valar to serve the will of Eru Ilúvatar, the creator of Middle-earth. His original form was silhouetted by the light of the Trees of Valinor. But when the Dark Lord Morgoth was expelled from Valinor, Saulon went with him. Morgoth gave him a formidable title and more power, as well as a great deal of knowledge about the world and how to manipulate it.Sauron's Descent into DarknessSauron's ambition and lust for power began to overtake him and gradually changed him from the angelic being of before to a cruel and powerful Dark Lord. During his tenure as a powerful being in Middle-Earth, he created the Eye of Sauron, a powerful magical symbol of his dominance over the inhabitants of Middle-Earth. He also used his powerful and destructive sorcery to enslave the race of Orcs and Nazgûl, and he also caused much destruction and bloodshed in his wake. The Dark Lord's WrathSauron's use of fear and brutality to control was almost unmatched. He created an empire dedicated to bringing fear and misery to the Free Peoples of Middle-Earth. He led military raids and waged war against the free peoples, conquering and enslaving large portions of the population of Middle-Earth. He also used fear tactics such as torture and imprisonment to keep his slave population in line. The Last Stand of SauronThe forces of good ultimately won the war against the Dark Lord Sauron. The combined armies of Elves, Men, and Dwarves laid seige to Sauron's stronghold, the Dark Tower of Barad-dûr, and eventually overcame him. Though Sauron was defeated, his legacy lives on in the form of his Eye of Sauron, a symbol of power, fear, and destruction.ConclusionSauron's presence in Middle-Earth stirred up great distress and fear among the Free Peoples. His ambition, cruelty, and violence left a dark and lasting mark on the land. He was ultimately defeated, but his legacy, while not completely extinguished, is still very much alive in Middle-Earth.
